Robin Akins Brewer
Artist Biography
Robin Brewer’s art is inspired from observation. The relationship between what is seen by the eye, processed by the brain, filtered by experience, and then captured by the hand, is the essence of her art.
Sketching was her favorite activity when she was a young child. This interest was cultivated during her early years by several supportive teachers including: Paul Chapman, Hank Musser, Bruno LaVerdiere, Jeff Elgin and David Miller.
She received her Bachelor's degree at Skidmore College in 1980 and her Master’s degree from St. Rose in 1987. Robin became an art educator for the Glens Falls City School District in 1983. During her thirty year tenure in this position, she developed as an artist by pursuing skills in painting, drawing, and photography.
Robin has been actively involved in the local art community by exhibiting her work and volunteering. Throughout the years she has received several awards for her work.
Robin Brewer has lived near Clendon Brook in Queensbury for most of her life. She resides with her husband, Timothy. They have one daughter, Ally Brewer.
Presently she has two incredible companions, Blu and Marlee.
