Diane Swanson ~ Paintings

Diane Swanson
Queensbury, NY

Diane is a visual artist based in the Lake George/Adirondack region of Northeastern NY State. Color, atmosphere, form and movement and the inherent poetry found in nature, inspire her paintings and drawings. Much of her work celebrates the lakes, mountains, woods and landscapes of the Northeast. The stunning beauty of the Adirondack, it's lakes, mountains, woods, meadows and skies are a constant source of inspiration for the artist, deeply influencing her painting aesthetics.
Working out of her studio in her home in Queensbury, NY, she paints primarily in watercolor, often using fine line pen or pen & ink to enhance the composition. She also paints in oil, gouache, acrylic and occasionally pastel.
With a background of degrees in illustration and literature, the artist enjoys conveying stories with her imagery; even a simple landscape can tell a subtle tale.
Through the years, Diane has worked an arts administrator with many non-profit organizations, as gallery director, marketing manager, grants coordinator and executive director of a national non-profit arts organization, Although that work was very fulfilling, she currently is happily and gratefully focusing full-time on her own art.
Her work has been exhibited in many juried, group and solo shows and her landscapes and commissioned paintings have found homes with collectors all over the US. The artist welcomes painting commissions - she creates custom portraits of homes, buildings, animals, memorable scenes and favorite views.
