Constance A. Dodge
The artist received her Masters of Fine Arts in Oil Painting from Catholic University in
Washington, D.C. and her BS in Art Education from Nazareth College in Rochester, NY.
Dodge exhibited at the Amos Eno Gallery in New York City from 1975 - 1998. Her
three dimensional drawings were featured in New York Magazine in the Fall of 1980.
Dodge is also included with a folio of work from the International Year of Women in the
collection of the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C.
The artist also received a prestigious artist fellowship at the Edna St Vincent Millay
Colony.
Regionally, in 2006 Dodge worked with Guild Members Mary Lou Strode and Eleanor
Rowland to create a four paneled model of Lake George’s History for Adirondack
Studios to replicate on a larger scale for the new Visitor Center in Lake George,
which was unveiled in 2007. Both Dodge and Strode donated their framed drawings
and paintings from the project to the Village of Lake George for their permanent
collection.
During Covid, Dodge illustrated a book entitled “Regards, Walter” about an orange
tabby barn cat named Walter and a literary rat named Thurman.The author, Warren
Applegate, is a good friend and former colleague while teaching at Maple Hill High
School. The book has a five star rating on Amazon.
The Guild of Adirondack Artists had a Group Show at the Birds of a Feather Gallery in
Chestertown, NY during Spring of 2024 , where Dodge was juried to receive a First
Place Award of a Solo Show in 2025 at the Birds of a Feather Gallery. The artist is in
many private collections and has been exhibited throughout the Northeast at college/
university galleries and private exhibition spaces. From the end of May through the
end of October come to the Dodge House Gallery in Edinburg, NY near the
Batchellerville Bridge overlooking the Great Sacandaga Lake at 936 South Shore Road
